Chatty GRWM 8/25/16| I’ll Be Bald By The End of the Semester

Chatty GRWM I'll Be Bald By The End Of The Semester

Trying this new thing out where I vlog, but I’ll still have the gist of the video in the blog. Sometimes with certain content I feel videos are better (makeup application), but other times I get annoyed clicking a blog post thinking I’ll see text and it’s just a video. You can’t always watch a video due to location (etc…), and sometimes you don’t feel like reading. I wanna marry the two here!

Also forgive me for having a weird posting schedule, I have posts scheduled, but sometimes things come up (like this). You will see a post on here every Monday, but sometimes you’ll still see another post here during the week if anything else cool happens/I have something to talk about.

Soon, basically in the video below I go through my usual summer routine and talk about my worries for my capping class this semester. If you want to see the products I use to get the look, they’ll be posted below the video!

Move-In Day Upcoming and Anxiety

It’s Tuesday. I move into school Sunday. I’m browsing my classes Facebook page, and after closing out of Facebook, feel the all to familiar slow creeping pressure rise up my throat. My heartbeat is racing, and I feel like I can’t breathe.

This, and usually bad stomach aches and nausea as move in day creeps closer occur every year. Why? I don’t know where down the line, or if it was just from the beginning, but my school and having to be there give me an immense amount of anxiety. Three years down, and it still doesn’t go away. Once I’m there, I am able to quell it I’ve learned by coming home on the weekends (or at least going to the city for the weekend to see friends from home), but it still never goes away. If I am unable to get away for the weekend, and stay for too long, I become enveloped in a feeling of despair and loneliness.

I have friends, so I am not sure still what produces this feeling. Still haven’t figured out what to do about it either.

Liebster Award

Liebster Award

Like the new facelift?? Still a couple of tweaks to make here and there, but overall…

Huge thanks to my blogging fraternal/name twin Courtney over for nominating me for the Liebster Award 😊 This summer was full of many blogging woes, and she gave me so many warming affirmations that, whether she knows or not, have really boosted my motivation to keep making my blog better. So, aside from the award, thanks for that too girl! You’re great! You should definitely go take a look at her blog! Her writing is great, and her art work is even better! You won’t be sorry, trust me.

But, without further ado: here we go!

LA Girl Flat Finish Matte Pigment Gloss in Rebel

If you’ve been reading this blog for some time, you know that I am quite the connoisseur of beauty supply store cosmetics. For the most part (as there are always exceptions), the quality is good, the shade ranges are plentiful, and most importantly: the prices are fantastic. Today, I come to you to share one of my all-time favourite lip products…..

Tips for Buying Cheap Textbooks In College

Tips for Buying Textbooks in College

Back to school season is among us, and for those returning to college, there’s always that one aspect we hate dealing with: buying textbooks.

They’re stupid expensive, they’re heavy, and sometimes you don’t even end up using them. I know, purchasing textbooks is the worst. Fear not though, I hope to share some of my favourite resources for getting textbooks for the low – saving your sanity and your wallet.

Fall 2016 Semester Goals

Fall 2016 Semester Goals

The few weeks before returning to campus are always bittersweet (at least for me they are). I enjoy being back home and around my friends, able to actually partake in activities, and not feel like I’m stuck in a bubble of b.s. Usually, I’m an anxious wreck during the weeks leading up to school, and extremely dread it in the immediate week leading up to move-in. This time, I am hoping for things to be different since this is my last year of college. I usually set out to achieve some form of goals for the upcoming semester, but abandon them altogether after the first few weeks. This time around, I hope to stick through with them for the entire semester!

elf x Jackie Aina J.Glow Palette Swatches and Review

E.L.F. Cosmetics x Jackie Aina J. Glow Palette + Swatches

Hello hello everyone. I just wanted to write a little something showing the colours in the beautiful J.Glow Clay Eyeshadow by Jackie Aina. As I said in this post here, I was lucky enough to snag this palette before it sold out. I admire Jackie, and I’m happy to support this collaboration. It speaks volumes to me that she says in her video about it (see end of post) that other opportunities have come up, but she chose to partner with them because she likes the brand (of course), and she wanted to go with a brand that was very accessible and affordable.

I appreciate beauty vloggers and gurus who don’t forget that a majority of their viewers don’t have $70 to drop on one makeup item every other day, and are able to mix up the use of high-end and low-end products on their channels. I think that this was both a thoughtful and smart move on her end.

Anyway, with all of that being said, keep reading if you’re interested in seeing swatches!

True Life: I Didn’t Like College

True Life- I Didn't Like My College Experience

College, for some, represent the best four years of their lives. I, unfortunately, haven’t had that experience due to a number of personal reasons. It’s something I choose now to look at as more of a growth experience, however, that doesn’t mean I can’t be honest about it. I think it’s annoying having people always talk about how great of an experience college is when you don’t feel that way because 1) it makes you feel like you’re doing something wrong if you aren’t, and 2) puts you in an awkward position to feel like you have to always say things are going well when they’re not. For those that are in the same boat as me, read on to view some of my thoughts as I enter my senior year.

June/July Empties

Heyooooo 🖖🏾

I basically use the same makeup products in my routine, so there isn’t usually too much that gets finished that hasn’t been discussed on here before. That might change, so I figured I would start this as a mini series since I do make slight changes for things like mascara and face powder.

With that being said, onto the empties!
